Party Geek Candy Chic

I hate to admit it, but I think it’s in a girl’s DNA to be obsessed with shoes. Throughout my teens & early 20′s I was all about rockin’ sneakers, but since having matured (read: aged…) I’ve expanded my shoe palette to include heels of all sorts. I still have a love for my colorful kicks, and am venturing in boots as well. That just means I am acquiring more shoes than I know what to do with. Oh dear…
Acrylicana Party Party Shoes
Anyways where was I? Oh right, more shoes…

A sweet package showed up on my doorstep from Apparel Dynasty featuring Acrylicana’s cute, crazy color-tastic party heels!  The box came in a reusable tote bag as well (all the better to carry boxes of cookies in ;D…) I was thrilled!

I’ve been a fan of Acrylicana aka Mary Winkler from way back in the early days of etsy! I remember sportin’ my poop + toilet paper phone charm on my cool razr phone…until it broke off n disappeared from my life. T_T She also created cool one-of-a-kind customized shoes that would feature her signature cluster of cute characters and colors! And now with the help of Apparel Dynasty, you can enjoy a whole line of Acrylicana goodies that range from fashionable heels, scented shoelaces (What?!), luggage, and dresses! Oh what a way she’s come :D

Here is what I would consider a sensible outfit for the office that says, “Hey, I can be business AND fun!

Sweet Streets Night

Sweet Streets is back once again to give LA its yearly dose of art & fashion influenced by Japanese & Western 80′s popculture. This year we are introduced to Spank! a Japanese brand designed by Tavuchi Sayuri whose style is a re-imagining of cute, 80s-DIY-rainbow-pastel-frilly-ruffled fairy dolls. A collaborative fashion show featured clothes & accessories by Spank! & Chubby Bunny. The models wearing Sugarpill makeup came out in pairs pumping their pompoms, rocking like rockstars, and handing out sweet treats! The long line outside the WWA Gallery set a buzz in Culver City as passerbyers got a sweet visual eyeful from all the stylish attendees dressed in their cutest pastel fashion coordinates. Yeah, everyone got the rainbow pastel memo ;)

Sample Sales Loot

The world of sample sales is very competitive and scary. I ventured to downtown LA today with Stephanie & Armen to check out the Wildfox Couture sample sale. Little did I know that it was THE DAY that several brands opened their showrooms for sample sales! I witnessed women scheming and running up the stairs with their suitcases and shopper carts. So intense! I was not ready for this! But I did manage to score a few good finds!

Forever 21 x Hello Kitty Debut Party

Forever 21 celebrated the debut of their Hello Kitty Fashion Collection at the Hollywood & Highland store location last night. The collection featured several cardigans, fashion tops, stockings, knee-highs, knit dress, pi’s and more. A LONG line of kitty enthusiasts eagerly awaited to get their hands on the new collection. I went full girlie and got my nails deco’ed with kitty. What a fun shopping party equipped with DJ, the Jenner twins modeling, pocky, cupcakes, sushi and overall kitty merriment. Party Medium all the way!

Back in the day we RELAX

Time for a shopping break (seriously) to relax at the onsen (hot spring). We took 2 trains to get to Odaiba, the man-made island in Tokyo. Oedo Onsen Monogatari is a hot spring theme park that is built to look like the Edo period! While sporting a yukata, you can relax, eat, play games, get a massage, have little fishes eat the skin off your feet, and soak in the hot baths. You wear a wristband that scans all your purchases/services and pay when you’re all done :D After our spa day, we explored Aqua City and Decks shopping plazas in Odaiba. Had quick bite at the takoyaki museum until we headed back to Shibuya for late izakaya dinner.

Sumo Got Back!

Woke up early to do a quick 3 hour shopping sprint at Shibuya 109! I was only able to cover 3 floors in the 9-story building! After, we met up with Sanrio friends to enjoy a very special, very VIP Sumo Wrestling Dinner! We were treated with much foods and enjoyed the tournament! Finished off the night back in Shibuya to shop at LOFT (similiar to Tokyo Hands) and Don Quixote (again)!

A visit to Ginza

Disney Marathon dzown! Time to take it a bit easy with less intensive shopping adventures. This day we hung out in Ginza. Think of it as Japan’s Rodeo drive, a higher-scale area full of fancy department stores. So what are we doing here? To visit the largest Sanrio store of course! It was really hard to resist all of the cute items, but I did well! I also discovered the best waffles of my life & drank tiny fruit smoothies. The rest of the night was spent at Ginza Hands. That’s chill shopping for yah…

Tokyo Disney Halloween: The MERCHANDISE

Tokyo Disney’s creative production team for merchandising must be insane. I don’t know how they can churn out new merchandise for every season every year! It’s both glorious and horrifying for my mental state & wallet. It ignites my materialistic urges like no other. I go into Crazy Shopper Stephiee mode. You cannot hold me back when it comes to Disney!
I took a buttload of photos of the merchandise for this season because you probably won’t see a good chunk of this after the season is over. It was a challenge to simultaneously shop & take photos of everything. I simply didn’t have enough hands for this! During our downtime while waiting for the parade, I ran into several shops to take photos & skim through what I wanted to buy. Later in the day I returned to make my purchases. Ah, the wise shopper :)

This is why you need 2 days in each park. One day to enjoy the park for all the attractions and shows. And another day completely devoted to shopping. It’s less stress and hassle that way. It’s not fun trying to get on/off rides with both arms full of heavy bags. A locker becomes your best friend at this point! So yeah, 2 days per park…Trust me!

Plush Pin Keychains all come with a buddy :D

This is One Man’s Dream II

Thank you Tokyo Disney for a horribly titled show. And Part II nonetheless. It doesn’t roll off the tongue smoothly when I say it. Maybe it’s just me. I have bouts of fob every once in a while. No worries, the production itself was nothing short of a Disney dream! Wait, who’s dream? I guess we’ll find out!

Halloween Street: Welcome to Spookyville 2011

Tokyo Disneyland’s Halloween theme was Halloween Street: Welcome to Spookyville. I admit, I felt a bit let down with the theme. I mean, how could it possibly top Banzai Villains!! But oh, how they proved me wrong. This was a fun Halloweentime parade with a cute ghost dance. OBAKE OBAKE!!! Think patty cake with cute ghost hand gestures! The song gradually speeds up until you’re OBAKE-ing like a mad man! It’s soooo fun! The song is super infectious as I had it stuck in my head for the rest of the day :D

Watch the parade in its entirety!

BOO! Another Tokyo Disneyland Rendevous

And here we are again with another visit to my favorite Disney theme park, Tokyo Disneyland for the Halloween season! Wait, didn’t I just post about spending Halloween at Tokyo Disneyland not too long ago? Uh yeah, but that was from my trip in 2009. This is from my recent trip from September…this year :P

Quiet Disney Moments
Barely recovered from a fantastic 27th Birthday celebration at Disney Sea, My & I continued with our Disney Marathon!

Advice: I feel its best to lump all the Disney days together because your body seems to go into “themepark overdrive survival” mode. It allows you to endure long hours of attractions, shows, shopping, and walking for 12+ hrs. If you were to split up the days, you body would go into shock. Trust me on this. Your body pretty much runs on Disney adrenaline magic.

Barbie Gets Inked

Barbie is sportin’ a new look thanks to a makeover by tokidoki’s Simone Legno! Fans lined up at the Santa Monica store to get their hands on the highly anticipated tokidoki x Barbie doll in addition to special tops, bags, and a gorgeous skate deck. Simone was there to sign & doodle for his adoring fans. He is such a nice guy and always takes time with all of his fans. :)

tokidoki x Barbie

Barbie’s new ink seems to be causing quite a stir with the moms of America. Check out the debate on ABC. So why is it so taboo for her to have tattoos? Barbie has been re-designed & celebrated in a wide array of styles throughout the years. To me it shows that you can be beautiful no matter what you wear or what you are. It’s 2011! Time to accept diversity peoples! Despite the hubbub, sale were not affected since the doll is sold out! The dolls have been selling on eBay for around $500! Yikes! Guess I have a rare collector’s item! ;D

It’s Halloween Silly Pumpkin Head!

BOO!! It’s a beautiful chilly Halloween day! I hope everyone caused some good ruckus this weekend galavanting around in awesome costumes while partaking in spooky activities! Strangely enough I never go all out for Halloween. I suppose since I dress up throughout the year, Halloween seems just like any other day. Then I’ll see everyone planning epic costumes, I get jealous and decide that the following year I shall do something amazing! I suppose there’s always next year :P

Pumpkin Tea Custom from Lunartik
Spooky Pumpkin Tea Custom from Lunartik

However that isn’t to say I didn’t celebrate in the festive spirit of Halloween. I’ve eaten my fair share of pumpkin treats & donned a pumpkin head at Disneyland. And what’s spookier than painting your face to hang out at a cemetary until midnight for Dias de los Muertos! OooOOooOO!!! I party medium for Halloween yo!

But seriously…next year, something epic will come from me!…hopefully ;D

For now enjoy me rockin’ the sexy rexy look…

Too much sultry sexiness that it’s cutting off my circulation! But at least I can still rock a toddler’s costume!

The Great Reorganization Project!

My room has been in a constant state of distress ever since I came back from Japan. There was simply no room for me to accomodate my 200lbs of goodies. It was left like this for a good three weeks until I finally had time to go into a ULTIMATE REORGANIZATION MISSION. I’m a very organized person with a side of OCD, so this constant chaos was driving me nuts. After a good 20 hours of purging all of my closets & rearranging ALL of my posessions, everything is finally in its place. I can see the floor again. I have filled up 4 closets within my house. I am tired as ever, but so satisfied with my ability to cram a ton of stuff into small spaces.

Japan Threw Up in My Room

Moral of the Story? Never let me buy anything again.

If you’re interested, I took photos of everything I bought on my recent 3 week trip to Korea & Japan. 200 lbs of stuff that caused this whole reorganizing uproar! Materialism is alive & well in Asia!

CSI Japan: SHOPPING DAY

This day was designated as “Shopping Day” in Shibuya + Harajuku. We went to a 90-minute dessert buffet called Sweets Paradise to gain energy for the intense shopping that was to be done. We split up after Shibuya 109 and met at the hostel for a Show & Tell at night. Then a quick run to SEVERAL fast food joints for a late night feast.

Locketship invades J-Pop Summit Festival!

The girls and I were at J-Pop Summit Festival in Little Tokyo San Francisco to work the booth for our awesome friend Maria, designer of jewelry company Locketship! It was a day full of unicorns, mermaids, cats, and dogs as we hustled jewelry to those who attended the event! We met a lot of nice people, ate yummy foods, and shopped a bit! It was a blistery cold weekend for SF! Not ideal when you’re wearing a thin lingerie slip with an equally thin lace cardigan…

Disney Sea Venetian Halloween 2009
When you visit Disney Sea, its as if you’ve transported to Europe. Well I’ve never been to Europe, but this is what I imagine it to be like. Gorgeous buildings, scenery, and of course japanese people walking everywhere :P
